WOMEN’S HEALTH ACCESS
SUPPORTING WOMEN THROUGH GYNAECOLOGICAL CARE
-

OUR MISSION
To make it easier for women to access the right gynaecological care at the right time
what we do
Women’s Health Access helps women to get the right gynaecological care at the right time. We provide clear information, independent guidance and practical help so that women can understand their symptoms, learn how to manage them and move forward with treatment if needed. Our online free resources will support women to understand their options and find appropriate specialists and centres. Soon we will launch our first of a kind helpline, staffed by Health Advocates, offers free information about what Gold standard care looks like, how to ensure your concerns are taken seriously and what kind of questions you could take to your GP or Gynaecologist.
In time, we will also provide financial support to those facing financial barriers such as travel costs or time off work while waiting for care. We will collaborate with the NHS, clinicians and government to improve women’s health services, using real patient experience to push for better gynaecological care across the UK.
For too long, women’s health has been underserved and many women report difficulties accessing care or a lack of support for their gynaecological concerns. Women’s Health Access exists to demand better care for women in the UK. We are bringing together expert health sector knowledge to improve access to gynaecological care across the UK.
HOW WE HELP
-

IMPROVED ACCESS
Access should not depend on postcode, income or the ability to take time off work. We want to ensure women have swift access to the care they need and this starts with education.
-

FASTER DIAGNOSIS
Women should not be waiting years for answers - clearer referral routes and earlier access to specialist assessment are essential. We know that often, women need to know where to start and what they can ask for - that’s where we come in
-

BETTER SUPPORT
Women on waiting lists need clear information, independent guidance and practical support to access care and how to manage symptoms. Too often, women are dismissed and are given little to no support.
